Website audit cost: what sets the price

The cost of a website audit depends first on its scope: how many pages are reviewed, in how many languages, and on which topics. Then come the share of human review and what you actually receive. Two quotes only compare when their scopes match.

Our plans run from €200 excl. VAT for 8 pages to €1,190 excl. VAT for 120 pages, and a whole-site audit is quoted on request. The details are on our pricing page.

Fixed price or day rate

Audits are sold in two ways. On time and materials, the provider estimates a number of days and applies a day rate: the price tells you how long they expect to spend. At a fixed price, the amount is set in advance for a written scope: the price tells you what you get.

Both have their place. Time and materials suits work that takes shape as it goes, such as ongoing support or a redesign. A fixed price suits a question asked up front, with a scope you can describe in pages and topics. Either way, the written scope is what lets you compare.

What drives the cost of an audit

The same factors come up from one offer to the next. Each one changes the work involved, and so the price.

  • The number of pages reviewed. A page is one address on the site, opened and examined. A store with hundreds of product pages is not covered like a ten-page site: the guide to ecommerce website audits explains what that adds. A serious quote says how many pages, and which ones.
  • Languages. Each translated version is another scope to go through: its pages, its titles, its language declarations. An audit of the main language alone says nothing about the others.
  • The topics covered. An SEO audit covers search. A website audit can also cover security, speed, accessibility, legal requirements, the domain and hosting. The guide SEO audit vs website audit compares the two scopes.
  • The share of human review. A tool produces a list of issues in minutes. Someone who cross-checks the measurements, discards false alarms and ranks what matters spends hours on it. The guide to website audit tools covers what each one measures.
  • Deliverables. A score dashboard, a report you can pass on, a fix plan, support while the fixes are made: these are different services, at different prices.
  • Access to the site. A public site is reviewed the way a visitor sees it. A customer area, an app or a staging site needs authorization and a scope agreed together, which means a quote.

An audit can also cost nothing, when it is limited to what a tool measures on its own or to a single page. The guide to free website audits covers what they see well and what they cannot see.

Our price list, plan by plan

Every plan applies the same method across all 9 pillars and delivers the same three documents: the audit report, the page-by-page analysis and the methodology note. Only the number of pages analyzed and the price change. Nothing is taken out of the smaller plans.

  • A8, €200 excl. VAT: up to 8 pages. For small sites.
  • A25, €490 excl. VAT: up to 25 pages. For a brochure site or a small catalog. Each extra language: €120 excl. VAT.
  • A60, €890 excl. VAT: up to 60 pages. To cover most of a company site, an online shop or an active blog. Each extra language: €300 excl. VAT.
  • A120, €1,190 excl. VAT: up to 120 pages. For larger or more varied sites, with extra pages priced individually. Each extra language: €420 excl. VAT. Each extra page: €0.75 excl. VAT per language.
  • Ax, quoted on request. Your whole site, with no page cap, and sites behind a login.

Page counts apply to a single language. For one language, delivery takes 5 working days up to 60 pages. On A120, it depends on the number of pages ordered. With extra languages, we confirm the turnaround before starting. When you order, the amount is temporarily authorized on your card. It is only collected on delivery of the report.

To see what you get, read the report on a business website or the one on an online store, both published in full.

Which plan fits your site

You do not pick pages one by one. We set the scope from the real structure of the site: first the pages the law requires us to check, then the ones your navigation puts forward, then the most linked from the rest of the site. The plan covers the top of that ranking.

The report lists exactly which pages were analyzed; pages not examined are kept separate from the audited scope. An issue found on one product page often applies to its siblings, and the report says so.

Before starting, we survey your site: its number of pages, its languages, and which of them can be analyzed. If the plan does not fit, we tell you, and you can change or cancel at no cost. If in doubt, write to us with your site's address.

How to compare two quotes

An amount on its own does not say what it buys. To compare two offers, put the answers to these questions side by side.

  • How many pages will be reviewed, and who chooses them?
  • Which languages of the site are covered?
  • Which topics: search alone, or also security, legal requirements, the domain, accessibility?
  • Who reads the measurements, and who signs the report?
  • What do you receive: scores, a report you can pass on, a fix plan?
  • Is what could not be verified written down as such?

What this check doesn't tell you

We do not quote other providers' prices: they change, and each offer covers a different scope. Two amounts only compare once their scopes are written down.

Our prices exclude VAT. Any applicable VAT is calculated at checkout, based on your country and VAT number.
